Ivan and the Gennie
One day after college finals Ivan wakes up and finds himself with a headache (caused by the usual causes). He also finds out that someone has played a trick on him and he's on a beach somewhere, his clothes have been stolen and someone has used a set of handcuffs on his wrists behind his back.
Strangely he doesn't recognize the beach as the one near the college, and he doesn't have a clue of where he is. And he's a bit befuddled from the drink the night before. So he gets up (with effort since his wrists are bound behind him) and tries to find some clue of civilization. At this point he stumbles over something, and as he works himself up again he rubs his naked form against a lamp and out pops a Gennie.
He's terribly vague with his wishes and the Gennie twists them around to suit her. She's been trapped in the lamp for a few hundred years and is in a mood for mischief.
Wish | Example of twist |
---|---|
I wish you'd do something about these uncomfortable cuffs | Change them into a set of permanent magical cuffs, with his wrists still bound behind him |
I wish the sun wasn't so bright | Give him a blindfold |
I wish the logs would move so we could build a shelter | She puts him in a strength enhancing harness and have him pull the logs |
I wish I knew where I was going | She puts him in a bridle and guides him with the reins. |
