Well I'm going to do my best to come up with something original, so here goes.
There will be two different systems of money. The King's system and the local systems. Well the other nations systems might be here as well, but at least the King's system will be described here.
There are three metals used for making the coins, copper, silver, and gold.
There are 5 types of coins, a full mark, a half mark, a quarter mark, a tenth mark, and a twenyth mark.
in other words, if a twenyth mark is worth one unit then this is how the rest line up.
1/20 = 1 unit
1/10 = 2 units
1/4 = 5 units
1/2 = 10 units
1 = 20 units.
100 copper marks equals a silver mark, and 100 silver marks = 1 gold mark.

Most peasents will only carry 1/20th brass marks around, and usually only a handful of them. Each 1/20 brass mark is worth about $2 in the US, you can get an apple for it, and that's about it.
By this system one Gold mark is worth about $400,000 US dollars. That's a hell of a lot. Most money changers won't deal with gold, its a heavy metal and pretty rare on Mycle.
A mark weighs about a pound.
Craftsmen will probably get paid as much as they do these days, starting at around 8 silver marks a year before taxes. Maybe 5 after taxes.
Most peasents don't get paid all that much, they may get a silver mark a year, getting most of the food from the farms they work on, they wouldn't have much spending money.
I'll get to these soon, but I don't know about it yet.
